I Think I Can

AH ok wow. I actually managed to mail out a headshot, resume and audition video today. I can't believe it. I had to run to the store to buy stamps, I ran around to all of our old printers till I found one with ink and somehow managed to get my computer to work when making a DVD despite my previous issues with it.

It was soooo stressful but I am so glad it worked out!

I am going to try to post the video I made so you can view it. Then you can finally actually see when my acting is like:
I will probably end up posting it on my Youtube channel, there is a player at the bottom of my blog page so you can watch it.

I decided that I should just do a monologue rather than excerpts from the book so I did Angelina Jolie's monologue from Girl, Interrupted.

Since I'm not going to sleep any time soon.

I have been bit by a certain acting bug again. This one is involving the role of Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I am kicking myself because my sister told me to apply for this role MONTHS ago and I didn't listen. I looked up the movie and I thought I would never be able to play that role. However, now that I have begun reading the book and watched some clips of the movie and interviews of the actress from the 2009 version of the film I am hooked. I am also completely incapable of sending anything in because I have no ink in my printer and no way to burn a dvd if I made one of an audition and so... yeah...

Until next week all I can do is pray for the role.

-------

So to catch up. I auditioned for a project in Chicago! It was for Paerocilia by Richard Smith. I did not get the role but I may participate in the film as an extra. I have to swallow my pride a bit in order to do that. However, the director seemed very nice and I would love to work on a film again in any way possible. So that is on the schedule at some point.

Also I went to an open extra call in Milwaukee for Transformers 3. I got there at 10am and didn't get in the door until 3pm. I was scared I wasn't going to get in at all because they were only seeing people until 330! I haven't heard anything, and seeing as how filming is tomorrow and the next day I don't think that is happening. Oh well, another good experience.

-------

I finally got more organized with my acting supplies! I ordered headshots and got them printed professionally. I bought a bulk load of labels and envelopes. I also began a sort of rolodex of my film contacts as well as a catalogue of jobs I have applied to. This way I can keep track of my number of applications and the amount of auditions I am getting. I also can compare those numbers to the number of roles I actually get.

I feel more professional now that I have some of these things set up and so I hope good things come of it.

Till next time-

Keep it in mind that I'm crazy, won't you
